My name is Sarah Burns. I am a graduate of Urban River Massage Institute in Greenville, SC. I provide both Swedish relaxation massage as well as a variety of deep tissue modalities. I look forward to collaborating with you to create an individualized plan to address your particular concerns.
Coming from a family of chiropractors, I have seen and experienced both the therapeutic and holistic benefits of manual therapy firsthand. Though I was never much interested in getting into the family business, I decided to pursue massage therapy as a parallel path to helping myself and others find and embrace the innate healing wisdom that lives within us all.

When I visited Notre Dame de Chartres in the Loire region of France in 2001, I didn't know that the experience would still resonate 25 years later. Inlaid in stone on the floor of the cathedral is a labyrinth. I walked it. At first, it seemed the journey would end almost before it began. Then, just as I approached the goal, the path circled and then began to lead me away. As I continued, humbled, the distance to the objective remained ambiguous; sometimes tantalizingly close, sometimes discouragingly far. But I kept going. For a long time. Because there were no shortcuts. But there were also no dead ends. As long as I patiently followed the path, there was no way for me to get lost and no way I could fail to reach my destination.
That message is just as reassuring today just as it was 800 years ago when those tiles were laid. Whatever our journey, we all walk a winding path. We meet others whose paths converge with our own and we walk together; maybe for a day, maybe for a lifetime. As a massage therapist, my goal is to meet clients wherever they are on their journey and help them along as well as I can for as long as they need me.
About the Space:
The northern Spartanburg County countryside serves as the backdrop for a lovingly updated, classic 1974 ranch house. Though the home has been recently renovated, the style and decor harken back to its midcentury roots. Tranquil neutrals are accented with bold vintage colors in the private lower-level suite that houses the studio. I look forward to seeing you there!
